April 2, 2010 HAPPY SPRING! New show listed.... Thursday April 22 at the Museum of Civilization in Gatineau, QC. The evening will be an Earth Day event... more details soon! Love, Ana March 4, 2010 The Kindness of Years... is the name of my new album!!! The should be in my hands by next week and if we are lucky (cross your fingers) there will be copies available at the GCTC show on March 14th.... Formal CD release will be planned very soon... Big hugs, Ana December 30, 2009 A New Year.... 2010 is creeping up on me... I can hardly believe we're through another year. I'm starting to reflect on it and it seems it was a big one. The biggest news lately is that I am now the General Manager for the Ottawa Folk Festival. I am so happy to be a part of the Festival that I love so much in a new capacity. I will still be releasing my new album in 2010 and performing when I can ;) Babes for Breasts tour was amazing this year. We raised just about $11,000 which brings our total to $46,264.64 since touring began in 2007. Thanks to the outstanding efforts of Amanda Rheaume, the amazing BFB Sponsors, the Babes, the great charities and speakers, not to mention our awesome friends, families and fans we have had another successful year. We are small but mighty and will continue to do what we can to fight breast cancer and help those affected by it. The Album... I know, I have been promising you one for so long! Well it's getting there. I swear. The record is mastered and Amy Campbell is working on the album art with James Looker's beautiful photography. All we have to do is assemble it... which takes a little time. :) As soon as it's done I will let you know! Thank you to everyone for your support and love through this entire year of growth, fun and music. I can't wait 'til next year! With love, Ana

Sept 1, 2009 BFB, OCFF, OFF! With all the amazing things going on I have barely had time to say hello... so hello! I had an incredible weekend at the Ottawa Folk Festival both performing, emceeing and as Garden Coordinator. What a weekend! I had the chance to meet and perform with Bruce Cockburn, Steven Page and Joel Plaskett. Yes, it was amazing - definitely the most significant musical experience to date. I also had the chance to hang out with Bruce here and there - what an intelligent and fascinating person. Check out the MEDIA section for the write up on the show. BFB is gearing up! We are doing our first shows in St. John's NL followed by the Ottawa and Pembroke shows. Check out my TOUR section for dates that I am on, but I have taken a bit more of an organizational role and so check the BFB website for full tour dates. I have also started a short term contract working for the OCFF as their Conference Coordinator. I just started today and I am so excited to be working with such great people and for such a cool organization. I'll see you guys at the OCFF in October! Oh and the record! We are about to master with David Cain here in Ottawa. SO THRILLING! I am so proud of this album, mostly due to the amazing producing and engineering skills of Ross Murray. More soon - lots of love, Ana June 1, 2009 Too much of a good thing Between FB, Myspace, Mailing lists, Twitter and the rest I seem to have lost my website devotion! Sorry peeps. I promise to be better. That includes plans to make a new fancy website, a new fancy record and more new fancy things :) Updates... I've been working at the Ottawa Folk Festival lately... after playing there for so many years they've recruited me to run some things. I am the Gardening Coordinator for this year's festival, whose theme happens to be DIG YOUR ROOTS. There will be a tonne of gardening stuff - check out the Facebook group if you have it: search under: Ottawa Folk Festival - Gardening on FB! I've also been doing work with the Hearing Foundation: www.ihearya.org A really cool project telling high school students about safe listening levels and how to prevent noise-induced hearing loss. Check out the site. If you are around Ottawa tomorrow night, come to the National Arts Centre's Fourth stage for a night of amazing singer/songwriters. Bluebird North - Where Writers Sing and Tell - is an evening of song and stories from some of Canada's top songwriters. Lynn Miles, Eddie Schwartz, Kellylee Evans and Peter Katz will be performing in a songcircle. Show starts at 7:30. Doors at 7pm. Get tickets at the box office or at ticketmaster! Lastly, we are starting the mixing of the new album that I have been working on with Ross Murray. I am very excited as Ross did an amazing job producing, making my music better than I thought it could be. I'll keep you posted... xo Ana March 27, 2009 I'm Back! Well, well, well. Funny thing that happens when your PC goes offline and you don't fix it because you have a new mac but the mac doesn't have your web update software.. you don't update your website. SORRY everyone, it's been nuts. BFB tour was a great success and we are planning next year already. We started off 2009 with an intimate house concert in Ottawa at BOBCAT House Concerts, featuring Amanda Rheaume, Rhonda Stakich, Janine Stoll and myself. Almost finished tracking another album.. this time with the amazing Ross Murray, who is also included in my new band line-up! We debuted the new sound on Thursday March 12th at my latest concert presented by the Embassy of Japan. Next show? Look for me at Bluesfest 2009! A little review of last year.... 2008 Projects I Was a Part of: -The Japanese community made an EP of a few Japanese folk songs as well as an original composition written by some of the members of the Ottawa Japanese community. It's called Ottawa ONDO and you can get a copy through me - drop me an email. -I also sang back up on another cultural-flavoured project, "Expect the World" by Chairman George. The Chairman regularly tours China and did so during the 2008 Beijing Olympics. -Other back up vocal work in '08 included singing on the awesome and passionate Laurent Bourque's album, What we Talk About. I'm starting work on a new website which is very exciting... I'll keep you posted. xo Ana September 17, 2008 Is that today's date? There is SOOO much going on in Ana Miura/Babes for Breasts camp that I don't know what day it is :) Check TOUR for details on the BFB shows for the whole tour. Wednesday January 3, 2007 Babes For Breasts! I know last month was Christmas and Hanukah, but this month is my month for giving! Myself and 4 other lovely ladies that is... I'm putting on Babes for Breasts again this year and am very excited to tell you that we're touring it! Dates are in the TOUR section, including Pembroke, Ottawa, Perth, Brockville and Toronto (we also have a date open for a living room show - email me if you want to host one!). What do we need from you? Well, first of all tell everyone you know! Second, if you are someone who has a little extra financially, we're looking for tour support so that a) we don't go broke and b) we can give as much money as possible to the cause! What's the cause? I'm working with the Ottawa Regional Cancer Foundation (ORCF) in the development of a new support group called "Well Women" for those ladies who have fought and beaten breast cancer and are now seeking to regain their lives after regaining their health. It would be a first for this city! These women need help and support for the challenges that are ahead of them. If you think you can help - monetarily or any other way, please email me: ana@anamiura.com and let me know. much love, peace and happiness in the New Year, Ana
