Ana Miura

August 11, 2005
What you'll remember about local Ana Miura long after learning of her origins, is a voice so lullaby pure it doesn't matter where she's from. You'll get caught up in the summery sound of the first few songs and linger on the delicate finger-style guitar playing and powerful imagery of her entire debut EP. Then there's the stuff you'll want to forget, like the about-face from utterly optimistic to downright despondent, starting somewhere after song three. Were there more than six tracks on Tenacious Heart, perhaps the pace would have picked up again. As is, be prepared to soar, and sink, with a promising act, self-assure enough to explore two extremes.
